Habitat: Native of Japan; Japanese Snow Macaque have a range covering subtropical lowlands to sub alpine regions.
Description: Japanese Snow Macaques live at latitudes of 41 degrees to 31 degrees north of the equator, making them the only monkeys to live that far north in the world. They have fully opposable thumbs. They use all four legs to get around, but will also walk just on their hind legs when they're holding something with both hands. They have large cheek pouches for storing food in when it forages.
